Overview
 

The ActualSignal Finger Tapping Challenge is an interactive experience designed to demonstrate our AI-based change detection technology.

This challenge is for demonstration and engagement purposes only - it is not a clinical system and is not intended for diagnosis, treatment, or any medical decision-making.

Participants will perform a short finger-tapping test using the ActualSignal Challenge App during the conference. Performance results will be displayed live on the Leaderboard throughout the event.

ActualSignal Challenge - Official Contest Rules & Privacy Notice

Eligibility​

  • Open to all conference attendees aged 18 or older.

  • Participants must complete the onboarding process within the app, including creating a nickname (which will appear publicly on the leaderboard).

  • ActualSignal employees, partners, and affiliates are not eligible to win.

How to Participate

Note: Some sections of the app are marked in red and are originally designed for patients living with Parkinson’s disease.
These parts are included to give you a broader sense of how our platform works in real-world clinical use.
For the purpose of the conference challenge, all participants are welcome to take part - you can either answer these questions freely or simply skip them.​

Access the ActualSignal Challenge App during the conference.

2.

Complete the quick onboarding process and choose your nickname.

3.

Perform the finger-tapping test following on-screen instructions.

4.

You may repeat the test multiple times to improve your score.

Scoring & Leaderboard

  • Scores are calculated automatically by our proprietary algorithm based on:
    1. Maximum tapping speed, and
    2. Maximum amplitude (consistency and movement range).

  • Each participant’s highest score will appear on the live leaderboard, updated in real time.

  • Only nicknames (not personal data) are displayed publicly.

Winner Selection​

  • The participant with the highest overall score at the end of the event will be declared the winner.

  • In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined based on the highest average score of the participants’ three best test results. If the tie remains, ActualSignal reserves the right to determine the winner by additional criteria or random selection.

  • The winner’s nickname will be displayed at the booth (1760-51) and officially announced at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 22, the final day of the conference.

  • The challenge will officially close at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, October 22nd.
    The participant with the highest overall score at that time will be contacted first.
    If the winner cannot be reached within a reasonable timeframe, the participant ranked second will be declared the winner.

Prize​

  • The winner will receive an Amazon Gift Card valued at $1,000 (USD).

  • The prize is non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash or substituted.

  • The gift card will be sent to the winner’s registered email address

Data Privacy & Protection

  • During onboarding, participants will be asked to provide limited personal information, including first and last name, email address, phone number, gender, and a chosen nickname (which will appear publicly on the leaderboard).

  • This information is collected for participation in the challenge, leaderboard display, and prize fulfillment. In addition, with the participant’s explicit consent, ActualSignal may retain data collected during the challenge - including performance results, to support the further development and improvement of our AI algorithms aimed at enhancing neurological change detection and improving Parkinson’s care.

  • Any data retained for research or product development purposes will be handled in accordance with HIPAA privacy and security regulations and de-identified to ensure that no personally identifiable information is ever disclosed or used outside the permitted scope.

  • Participants may withdraw their consent and request the deletion of their data at any time by contacting privacy@actualsignal.com. Upon such request, all identifiable data associated with the participant will be permanently deleted from our systems.

  • For participants who do not provide consent, their personal and performance data will be automatically deleted within 30 days after the conference.

General Conditions​

  • By participating, entrants consent to the public display of their nickname and score during the event.

  • ActualSignal reserves the right to verify eligibility, disqualify any participant for unfair play, or modify/cancel the challenge in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
